SCT provides communication among local residents and organizations by producing and broadcasting programs that focus on local people, issues and services. We have weekly “live” government meetings of the Sandwich Board of Selectmen, School Committee and the Finance Committee. The Sandwich Historic District Commission meetings are recorded and rebroadcast and all other meetings are rebroadcast throughout the week on channel 15. The meetings are recorded gavel to gavel and are always rebroadcast in their entirety. You may also watch all televised government meetings and local programs on demand on this website by clicking on the “watch programs now” tab to your right. All our local programming is there dating back to March 2010. We also live stream televised government meetings during the week on the archive viewer. Each year we “go live” for Annual Town Meeting and any Special Town Meeting(s) during the year and they are also live streamed and archived.
Individuals and community groups may also express their thoughts, perspectives, and ideas by producing their own television shows. We also cable-cast “bicycled” shows. These are shows produced at other cable access facilities, requested by SCT residents. We share our local programs with access centers throughput the Cape and on Peg Media which is a nation wide site for public access programs.
Our workshops educate local residents and others in studio and field production and editing. Workshop graduates can go on to develop their own local television programs, or volunteer on other producer’s shows. Equipment includes a three-camera studio, video camcorders for remote shoots, non-linear video editing suites equipped with Final Cut Pro 7. We also have mini-cams, flip cams and audio equipment available. You may also call anytime and schedule an individual lesson that fits your schedule.
SCT is an independent, non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization, with the majority of funding provided by cable franchise fees and cable company support. Additional revenue comes from donations, fund raising and client services.
