| Advanced Field Production | Having a tough time capturing the
essence of your kids' Little League games with only one camera? Need
three camera angles to accurately capture your grass growing?

you can learn to be an expert character generator. That's the person who
is responsible for the credits, scrolls, crawls, photographs and other
stuff that pops up on the screen during a program. One 1 to 2-hour session. Prerequisite: Orientation |
By Appointment 508-888-6800 |
| Studio & Field Lighting | Ever wonder why your Christmas
morning home movies always look like home movies? Or the kids dancing at
the bar mitzvah are barely recognizable? Perhaps you showed up at the
wrong bar mitzvah. But, more likely, the lighting was poor, or
nonexistent. Learn how to remedy these problems in the field and the studio. One 1 to 1.5-hour session. Prerequisite: Orientation |
By Appointment 508-888-6800 |
| Video Switcher | Did you ever see a newscaster toss to
the weatherman and, instead, the sportscaster pops up by surprise,
picking his nose? You can do that too! Learn the ins and outs of cutting, cross fading, split screening, superimposing and all that other good stuff that technical directors do. One 1 to 1.5-hour session. Prerequisite: Orientation |
By Appointment 508-888-6800 |
| Audio Mixer | Does the sight of a thousand knobs,
buttons and sliders intimidate you? They won't after you take this audio
mixer course and become the next George Martin. One 1 to 1.5-hour session. Prerequisite: Orientation |
By Appointment 508-888-6800 |
| Linear Editing | Got video? Let us show you how to
assemble it, title it, narrate it... linear editing is the fundamental
building block for editing of any kind.
Classes limited to two persons and are scheduled by request. Prerequisite: Basic Studio or Basic Field Production |
By Appointment 508-888-6800 |
| Digital Editing on Screenplay | What's non-linear editing? Good
question. Come find out how to use the power of a computer to assemble
and edit your own videos. The system accepts video from VHS, SVHS and
MiniDV cassettes, as well as DVDs. If you ever tried to add titles to your home videos using the editing features of your digital camcorder, you are one frustrated puppy. Learn how to apply professional-looking crossfades, wipes, titles and other special effects to your videos and prepare them for airing. Individual sessions preferred. Prerequisite: Orientation & Linear Editing |
By Appointment 508-888-6800 |
| Digital Editing on the Macintosh | Same concepts as above, but the Final
Cut Pro software has a million more features. It's a lot more complex
to use as well, so go to the Screenplay class first and then decide if you
need more power to create your masterpiece.
Individual sessions preferred. Prerequisite: Digital Editing on Screenplay (or prior experience with Final Cut Pro) |
