Studio ClassesOrientation Learn about SCT and public access television at a free orientation open to the public. All new members are required to attend an orientation before registering for classes. Every Monday and Friday at 11am we are available to give a tour of the studio and a brief orientation to what we are all about. You can also call any time and make an appointment for a tour that is convenient for you. This is your access station so come and visit and see what we have to offer to the community and to you! Basic Studio Production This class is for members who want to get started producing multi-camera studio programs. In the first session you will learn how to work as a camera operator and floor director in SCT's three-camera TV studio. The last session will cover the operation of the control room, including the digital switcher, audio board, and graphics. You will also learn the basics of directing in the studio. After completing the class if you wish you can make yourself available to crew on upcoming productions. After some experience with production and camera work students will be eligible to produce their own programs. Be creative and express yourself! Portable Production/Editing Basic Field Production 1 and 2
In this hands-on class, each one hour long, Students will learn camera operation, audio techniques, and the basics of lighting in the field. Students are encouraged to ask any questions along the way to insure that they understand the technique and equipment and will be ready to shoot their own programs when they finish both classes. After joining SCT and completing this instruction you will be certified to take out equipment and began your film-making projects.
Basic Editing Learn to organize your production and edit your video footage in the SCT edit suites using Final Cut Pro and Screenplay system. Includes graphics, transitions, filters, and audio sweetening. Students are certified after completing the class and demonstrating competency and may reserve the edit suites for their own projects. Special Workshops STORY BOARDThis is where it all begins. Your first step is to understand what you are trying to communicate and what your intended message is. If you don't understand your message and don't have a clear way of expressing it, no one will. Creating a script or a story board will help ensure that you and your audience understands your vision and hears your voice. Join Jamie Horton for a class in the artistry of the STORY BOARD.
